Sartell Pediatrics was established by Dr. David Smith in October 2012.  After practicing in the area for over seven years, he saw an opportunity in the community to provide a more personalized pediatric experience for patients and their families.  Since opening, the practice has expanded to include seven medical providers, six behavioral health providers, three OT/Speech therapists, and remains one of the only independent pediatric practices in Central Minnesota.

Since 2012, our patient panel has grown to include nearly 9000 patients.  We are confident this is due to our practice philosophy, which encourages our providers to treat each patient as if they were their own child and focuses on convenience, continuity of care, and long-term health and wellness.  Tactically, this translates to scheduling protocols that always allow for same day appointments.  Extended office hours including evenings that ensure our patients have continuous access to primary care and whenever possible, appointments with their specific primary care provider.  We believe each office visit represents an opportunity for family education. While our primary goal is to treat the illness, injury or behavioral health concern, we also address the social setting engaging with caretakers and encouraging them to call the clinic with questions.  

The presence of our behavioral, occupational, and speech therapists has been instrumental in our model, as co-located providers helps eliminate stigma and minimizes the time and costs related to care coordination.
